Maps used in this catalogue were reproduced from 1:1,000,000 maps of Japan, 1:500,000 district maps, 1:200,000 regional maps, 1:50,000 topographical maps, 1:25,000 topographical maps, 1:10,000 volcano basic maps, 1:5,000 volcano basic maps, and digital maps 25,000 (Map Image), all published by Geospatial Information Authority of Japan, with its approval under the article 29 of The Survey Act (Approval Number JYOU-FUKU No.616 2011).
For maps processed in this catalogue, the following materials were used with its approval under the article 30 of The Survey Act (Approval Number JYOU-SHI No.589 2011); 1:200,000 regional maps, 1:50,000 topographical maps, 1:25,000 topographical maps, digital map 25,000 (Map Image), and digital maps 50 m-grid (elevation), all published by Geospatial Information Authority of Japan.
The use of maps of sea and coastal areas in this catalogue was approved under "Maritime Safety Agency Map Usage Permission No. 240013". Geological maps in this catalogue including “Geology of the Haruna-san District” (1:50,000 geological map), “Geology of Mikurajima, Inambajima and Zenisu Districts” (1:50,000 geological map) and materials in “Quaternary Volcanoes in Japan” were used with the following approvals.
