Atmospheric Environment

Environmental problems such as global warming, ozone layer depletion and acid rain have become serious concerns in today's world. In this context, JMA continuously monitors greenhouse gases, the ozone layer, Aeolian dust (Kosa) , radiation and acid rain, and provides related information to the public and policy makers. The Agency also contributes to international society under the WMO GAW programme based on international exchanges of atmospheric environmental data.
