Seasonal mean temperatures were extremely high from southern Eastern Siberia to western Japan, from eastern China to southern Central Asia, from Southeast Asia to southern India, from central Europe to central Western Africa, from northern Madagascar to the southwestern Indian Ocean, from northern to western Canada, from the southern USA to central South America, and in eastern Australia.
Seasonal precipitation amounts were extremely high from southern Central Siberia to northern Mongolia, in and around central Europe, in northeastern Algeria, from southeastern Canada to the northeastern USA, in the western USA, and in and around southwestern Argentina.
Seasonal precipitation amounts were extremely low from western Mongolia to northern China, from southern Canada to the northern USA, and from the southern USA to northern Mexico.

1	Warm	From southern Eastern Siberia to western Japan	It was reported that hot weather caused 94 fatalities due to heat stroke in Japan (Fire and Disaster Management Agency of Japan, as of 29 September). The seasonal mean temperature in Japan in summer (from June to August) was the highest on record for this season since 1898 (Japan Meteorological Agency). The seasonal mean temperature in Russia in summer (from June to August) was the third highest on record for this season since 1891 (Hydrometcenter of Russia).
2	Wet	From southern Central Siberia to northern Mongolia

4	Warm	From eastern China to southern Central Asia	The seasonal mean temperature in China in summer (June to August) was the second highest on record for this season since 1961. (China Meteorological Administration).
5	Warm	From Southeast Asia to southern India
6	Heat Wave	Northeastern India	It was reported that heat waves in June caused more than 50 fatalities in northeastern India.
7	Heavy rain	From India to Afghanistan	It was reported that heavy rains from June to August caused at least 1380 fatalities from India to Afghanistan (the government of India, the government of Pakistan, EM-DAT).
8	Wet	In and around central Europe, northeastern Algeria
9	Warm	From central Europe to central Western Africa	The seasonal mean temperature in Spain in summer (from June to August) was the third highest on record for this season since 1961 (The State Meteorological Agency, Spain).
10	Warm	From northern Madagascar to the southwestern Indian Ocean
11	Warm	From northern to western Canada
12	Wet	From southeastern Canada to the northeastern USA
13	Dry	From southern Canada to the northern USA, from the southern USA to northern Mexico
14	Wet	The western USA	The western USA was affected by Hurricane "HILARY" in August.
15	Heavy rain	Haiti	It was reported that heavy rains in June caused at least 50 fatalities in Haiti (European Commission).
16	Warm	From the southern USA to central South America
17	Wet	In and around southwestern Argentina
18	Wildfire	The state of Hawaii, USA	It was reported that wildfires in August caused at least 110 fatalities in the state of Hawaii, USA (FEMA).
19	Warm	Eastern Australia	The seasonal mean temperature in Australia in winter (from June to August) was the highest on record for this season since 1910 (Bureau of Meteorology, Australia).
