HRIT/LRIT File Data

JMA provides Himawari-8 and -9 data in the format prescribed by MTSAT HRIT/LRIT regulations. The parameters of the geographic coordinate system used for Himawari-8 and -9 are based on WGS84 (World Geodetic System 1984) as same as Himawari Standard Data.

Sample data of high-spatial-resolution and high-bit-rate were added.(25 June, 2015)

Sample data in this page are divided into Himawari-8 and Himawari-9, it is created from actual observation data by each satellite as a source. HRIT/LRIT files have the same file naming convention in the same format in Himawari-8 and Himawari-9, so there is no particular difference.(6 February,2018)
