Aeolian Dust (Kosa)

Aeolian dust (Kosa) is composed of mineral particles uplifted by frontal activity from semi-arid areas of the Asian continent and transported by westerly winds to Japan. JMA monitors Kosa at meteorological stations and via satellite imagery, and provides related analysis and predictions using an aerosol model.
