Himawari Standard Data (Ver1.3)

The "Himawari Standard Data" are calibrated and projected in a fixed grid called the normalized geostationary projection. They are distributed via HimawariCloud for registered NMHSs users, and also sold by Japan Meteorological Bussiness Support Center.

At 04:00 UTC on 25 July 2017, JMA will update part of the Header block in Himawari Standard Data format to incorporate the latest calibration information derived from SD observations for VNIR bands. Among the 104 bytes spare in the #5 calibration information block, 24 were assigned to 1) updating the time of the latest calibration coefficients; 2) the latest slope for the count-radiance conversion equation, and 3) the latest intercept for the count-radiance conversion equation.

The calibration information (i.e., the value of Nos. 8 and 9 in the #5 calibration information block) used will still be that derived from SD observations conducted between March and May 2015. Accordingly, this format update does not affect users' current processing.

Himawari Standard Data (Ver1.2)

 The "Himawari Standard Data" are calibrated and projected in a fixed grid called the normalized geostationary projection. They are distributed via HimawariCloud for registered NMHSs users, and also sold by Japan Meteorological Bussiness Support Center.

 As the sample data of HImawari-9 is pre-operational, users can use them only for checking their programs. Please don't use them for stdying the sensor performance and so on.  Table 2-1 lists samples of Himawari Standard Data and output files from sample source code.
